This guide will walk you through creating both a dynamic and a static mailing list in CRM, which are used during marketing campaigns or mass-mail sent out through CRM.
Creating a New Marketing List
1. Open up CRM and click Microsoft Dynamics CRM at the top-left followed by MARKETING, once done click MARKETING in the top bar then MARKETING LISTS (may have to scroll right to see it).
2. The Marketing Lists page should now be open, click NEW at the top-left of the page to create a new marketing list.
3. Give the new marketing list a descriptive in the Name field.
4. Then select what type of record will be included in the list (Account, Contact or Lead) in the Targeted At field.
5. Select whether the list will be a static or dynamic list by changing the Type field. (Static lists require you to specifically add records, whereas dynamic lists will update when it finds new records matching a search query).
6. Fill in any other fields as necessary then click SAVE at the top left to save the base Marketing List.
Manage Marketing List Members (Static)
1. Click MANAGE MEMBERS which can be found in the command bar when you’re on the marketing list page.
2. You should now get 4 options on how to modify members, to start adding members select “Add using Advanced Find” then click Continue.
3. The Advanced find pop-up will now appear, if you want to use a previously made view as a marketing list then right of where it says Use Saved View select the view to be used otherwise modify filters by clicking Select and once done click Find at the bottom right to return a list matching your filters.
4. Either select the records you want to use or use the 2 radio buttons at the bottom left followed by Add to marketing List at the bottom right.
Manage Marketing List Member (Dynamic)
1. Click MANAGE MEMBERS which can be found in the command bar when you’re on the marketing list page.
2. The Advanced find pop-up will now appear, if you want to use a previously made view as a marketing list then right of where it says Use Saved View select the view to be used otherwise modify filters by clicking Select and once done click Find at the bottom right to return a list matching your filters.
4. Providing the expected records were returned click Use Query, however if you need to modify the query then click Back to Query.
